Sal’s by Victor is known as the best Italian restaurant in Williamsburg. We use only the finest ingredients, like hormone-free chicken and veal, and import wines and olive oils directly from Italy. Many of our dishes are homemade, like our fresh pastas made with cage-free eggs, crafted right in our kitchen.
This restaurant has been passed down from father to son, from Sal to Victor. Victor’s diverse background allows him to connect with every customer, no matter their taste, and he hopes you’ll consider becoming part of the Sal’s family – a place where tradition, flavor, and a warm welcome meet.

The wait staff was exceptional. We had a wonderful waiter, Turguy, who was very friendly, efficient and everything you could ask for in a waiter.
If we return to Williamsburg, we will definitely return to Sal’s.
Our Historic Charm
Founded in 1974 by Salvatore and passed down to his son Victor in 1990, this family-run restaurant has been a Williamsburg treasure for decades.
Italian cuisine has deep roots in Williamsburg’s history. Early Italian settlers introduced olive oil, fresh herbs, and their beloved pasta and tomato-based sauces, transforming American cooking. These once-unfamiliar flavors became staples of comfort and joy. Sal’s by Victor carries on this rich legacy, blending Italian culinary traditions with the historic charm of Williamsburg to create a dining experience that feels both timeless and inviting.
On Friday nights at 6, the restaurant comes alive with the sounds of Jim Rice, known as ‘Giacomo Riso,’ and his accordion. He has been Victor’s friend and performed here for over a decade. His music creates a special experience for everyone who visits.
After a devastating fire in 2009, the restaurant was lovingly redecorated with handpicked oil paintings that capture the beauty of Italy’s golden sunlight, rolling hills, and sparkling water scenes.
